As I write this, I'm looking at Mary's watercolor take on Chicago's historic Water Tower. I've had it with me and loved it for fifty years. Signed "M. Gregory G." I grew up surrounded by her art. My mother, Betty McDonald, owned The Little Gallery in CP. She was inspired to be in that business by Mary and her art. They always seemed to have such fun together! What a gift Mary was to all. Please accept my condolences.

Mom, you were first person I ever met, the person who cared for me, then cared about me, then allowed me to care for you and I was blessed to live with you these last 7 years and I was lucky enough she spent her last hours with Chris, my husband and I. She passed away, peacefully in the morning, to the sounds of the birds that she loved so much. God bless you, mom.

Mrs. Geimer was a wonderful art teacher who helped influence my decision to become a teacher myself. I enjoyed hearing her wonderful life stories while I volunteered to help wash her paint brushes in elementary school! She was a wonderful person who loved her family and will never be forgotten!

I cherish the time I was given to spend with Mary as a colleague and a friend...I was also lucky enough to be given several pieces of art she created, including one from my student teaching days...Rest in eternal peace, Mary...
