Mary Ellen Sawyer Gilbert of Bedford, Texas passed away from complications due to pulmonary fibrosis on Friday, April 12, 2024 under the care of Community Healthcare of Texas Hospice Team. She was in the presence of her loving family, husband Terry Gilbert, Sr. and son Terry Gilbert, Jr.
Mary was born in Fort Worth, Texas November 16, 1951, and grew up in the HEB area. She was an active member of Shady Oaks Baptist Church in Hurst, Texas. She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years Terry Gilbert, Sr., son Terry Gilbert, Jr., daughter Norah Gumpert, brother Ken Ellis and sister-in-law Teresa Pack.
A Memorial Service is planned for 10:00 AM Monday, April 22 at Brown Owens & Brumley Funeral Home, 425 S. Henderson, Fort Worth, Texas 76104. She will be interred at a later date in the Garden of Rainbow Cremation Bench at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville, TX 76034.
