Mary J. Gilbertson

Mary J. Gilbertson, 92 of Monroe, formerly of Argyle passed away peacefully at Dimensions Living in Monroe. She was born November 5, 1933, in Orangeville IL to Ray and Lola (Ault) Walter and attended schools in Orangeville and Monroe. She was united in marriage to Alve Gilbertson on June 27, 1959, in Monroe. They resided in Argyle most of their lives.

Mary is survived by daughters Donna Bliss of Nappanee, IN and Joan (David) Wang of Monroe, WI, grandchildren Tony Bliss Jr., Scott Bliss, Nicole Bliss and Bryan Wang. She is also survived by sisters Ruth Bellamy, Helen (Randy) Wilhite, Ramona Manson, Etha Stimpert and sister-in-law Lucy Walter.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alve Gilbertson, parents Ray and Lola Walter, sister Phyllis Ault, brother Dayne Walter and one son in law: Tony Bliss Sr. She was also preceded in death by in-laws Harford Gilbertson, Bonnie (Harold) Johnson, Marvin Gilbertson, Clarinda (Harold) Berry, Tilman (Helen) Gilbertson, Janet (Lewis) Hardyman, Lela Jenny, Dolores (Clarence) Jenny, Orville (Doris) Gilbertson and Henry (Grace) Gilbertson.

Mary worked for over 20 years at the Argyle School kitchen. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, baking, and sewing quilts for her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 29th at 11:00 AM at Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle. A visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM on Saturday, November 29th at the funeral home, with Rev. Chris Strohm of New Hope Lutheran officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Argyle.
