With deepest sorrow, we share the heartbreaking news of Mary Kay Glowing's passing on May 29, 2024. Preceded in death by her father – Edwin Albrent, mother – Grace Albrent (Bembenek), siblings Michael & Debbie Albrent and best friend – Debbie Kreuger. Survived by her husband – Bill Glowing, children – Jason (Jamie), Katie Grace and Zach, grandchildren – Jessica Bender (Glowing), Kenzie, Sam, Henry and Amelia, great grandchildren – Clay, Elena and Mia, her brother and sister-in-law – Jim & Betty Albrent, nephews and niece – Michael, Gary and Amanda, her dear friends Sally & Mark Pass, and many friends, family and coworkers who were dear to her heart.
Mary graduated Marquette University School of Nursing in 1979 and went on to excel as a Critical Care Cardiac Nurse for the greater portion of her 44-year career – moving on to a Quality Control Coordinator role during the years preceding her retirement at the end of 2023. Her care for not only patients, but her coworkers, was present in everything she did. Mary took great pride in taking care of others, always putting their needs first, leaving a lasting impression of compassion and kindness in everyone she encountered.
Mary enjoyed arts, crafting and was talented in all her hobbies. From baking elaborate cakes, to party planning, to card making, she always put her special touch on everything. Her love of the theater placed her at shows as often as possible – a pastime she shared with her husband, children, and friends as her "play dates".
Mary was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, nurse, coworker, and friend. She was the kind of person that made everything she was involved in better, always adding in a little extra to everything she did – giving it that special "Mary Kay touch" that so many came to know and enjoy. Holidays, birthdays, and even regular days were brighter because of her.
Mary was an absolute angel on earth, our Northern Star, the center of our family. Her passing leaves a hole that no one can fill, in the hearts of many.
A Nightingale Tribute will take place at 2:45 pm.

I met Mary Kay as a patient at Ascension Columbia St. Mary's and her last name, "Glowing" was such an appropriate name for Mary Kay. She and her husband were such smiling, considerate and caring individuals when they came for appointments, whether Mary Kay was feeling good or not. I will always remember her wonderful smile and her husband who supported her through and through. May you see the face of God, Mary Kay,
