Mary Godlewski

On October 23, 2025 Mary Godlewski, 93, of Fox Lake, Illinois passed into the arms of Our Lord and was reunited with her beloved husband, Edward (October 4, 2025).

Mary was born December 24, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Federico and Josephine Macciocchi, and sisters, Antoinette Jeziorney (Ted) and Constance Kedzie (George).

Mary's life was completely focused on God, Our Blessed Mother and her family. Before marriage, she worked to help support her widowed mother and siblings. After marriage the aspirations, interests and projects of her husband and daughter became her own and she supported them without reserve. She was a phenomenal cook and could prepare a feast for fifteen "drop-in" guests in the time it took her daughter to open a can of soup and heat it. Mary was a loyal employee of United Airlines for 35 years. She treated her responsibilities as if the company was her own. In her free time, Mary loved word games, TV game shows and spending time outdoors in Fox Lake's Lakefront Park andChain-O-Lakes State Park and CHOCOLATE.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Kathryn, her brother, Fred Macciocchi, nephews Fred (Diane) Macciocchi, Vincent (Lisa) Macciocchi, great-nephews and nieces, and cousins.

Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 3, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1407 N. Richmond Road, McHenry, Illinois. Visitation is at the Church at 9:30am. Mass is at 11:00am. Private internment immediately following the Mass at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
