Mary Helen Goralski (née Schroeder)
October 10, 1935 – January 10, 2026
Mary Helen Goralski, age 90, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, at Angel's Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc. She was born on October 10, 1935, to Michael and Helen Schroeder.
Mary is survived by her six children: Laura (Gary) Thieme, Debbie Ollenburg, Chris Goralski, Andy (Coleen) Goralski, Patty (Terry) Bartlein, and Beth (Imre) Varga. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild.
She was the eldest sister to Judy (Bob) Brandt and Carol (Norb) Lepinski. She is preceded in death by her sister Janet (Bill) Bradley, her son-in-law Steve Ollenburg, and her great-grandson Joseph.
From a young age, Mary was gifted with a beautiful singing voice. She performed in high school musicals, sang at weddings, and was a longtime member of the St. Agnes Choir. During Sunday Mass, everyone knew Mary was present the moment her voice rose above the congregation.
Mary excelled in bookkeeping throughout her life. She held many roles over the years and retired at age 72 after a long and dedicated career at Spancrete Industries in Waukesha, where she worked in HR, payroll, worker's compensation, insurance benefits, and more.
She loved spending time with family and friends and was always ready for a gathering filled with food, fun, and laughter. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and was constantly searching for new recipes to try.
Every summer, Mary cherished a weeklong trip to Rhinelander with her three sisters to visit their childhood friend Kay. They played cards, shared meals, reminisced, and filled the days with conversation and laughter.
Mary will be remembered for countless qualities: a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend; a source of unwavering strength-"The Rock"; a wonderful cook; an avid reader; and a natural storyteller with a love for jokes. Above all, she was the best role model anyone could hope for.
Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and she will forever remain in our hearts and memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial contributions in Mary's honor.
