Mary Lois Green

Mrs. Mary Lois Green, affectionately known as "Mema," "Mudea," and "Ms. Lois," was born on April 10, 1936, to Mr. and Mrs. John L. and Mary Lou Jones Davis. Mema attended the public schools of Randolph County in Shellman, Georgia.

She confessed her life for Christ at an early age and joined the Enterprise Missionary Baptist Church in Shellman, Georgia. Mudea served faithfully as an usher until the closing of the church due to COVID-19. Due to her willingness to serve Christ, she later became a member of the Mt. Mary Missionary Baptist Church of Sasser, Georgia.

Mary was married to Mr. Charlie Calvin Green. Mudea was the mother of six children.

Ms. Lois was employed by Steven Industries as a worker in the Cinderella Foods Plant. She later worked at Almark Mills as a seamstress. After the closing of Almark, she attended Albany Technical College and received her certificate in Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and worked as a CNA until her retirement.

Ms. Lois was a faithful and life member of the Terrell County Branch of the NAACP. She loved her family and her community, and she proved it by her words and deeds.

On Saturday, September 27, 2025, Mary peacefully went to rest. She was preceded by her parents and her son, Ronnie. Mema leaves to cherish her memory: her loving daughter, Gwendolyn (John L.) Gardner; four sons, John (Dorithy) Green, Gregory (Annie) Green, and Michael Green, all of Dawson, GA, Lorenzo (Shannon) Green of Wisconsin; loving brother, Arelius (Bernie) Mays of Colorado; one daughter-in-law, Annie P. Green of Dawson, GA; sixteen grandchildren, Trenton (Yauna) Williams of Lawrenceville, GA, LaTonya (Dell) Grier, Lashundria Green, Fredrick Peak, Tara Green of Dawson, GA, Quinton Green of Atlanta, GA, Chiequilta Green, Tamara Green, Sabrina Green of Dawson, GA, Gregory (Dana) Green of Albany, GA, Adrian Gardner of Riverdale, GA, Victor Perry, Latranza Patterson of Columbus, GA, Torrance Gardner, Jerproncia Gardner of Lee County, Shandell (Chris) Pollard, and Timothy Hall of Albany, GA; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister-in-law, Thelma Green of Dawson, Georgia; one brother-in-law, Lawrence (Mary Lee) Green of Dawson, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, loving cousins, and friends.
