Mary Melvine Grimsley passed away on February 28, 2026, in Paragould, Arkansas. She was born on June 5, 1940, in Walcott, Arkansas, to Elmer Lee and Bessie Wren.

Throughout her life, Mary Melvine was known for her unwavering faith as a dedicated member of Lake Street Baptist Church. Her devotion extended beyond her church community, as she was also a loving homemaker and skilled cook. Her culinary talents were a source of joy not only for her family, but also for those fortunate enough to partake in her meals. Additionally, Mary Melvine found peace and joy in fishing, a hobby that allowed her to connect with nature and cherish the quiet moments.

Mary Melvine leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Gau and Robert Grimsley (Vicki); her daughter, Patricia Settlemoir; her sister, Joyce Sloan; as well as four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. These family members will forever hold dear the lessons and warmth that Mary Melvine imparted throughout her life.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Orion Doyle Grimsley; sons, Jerry Don Grimsley and Tracey Lee Grimsley; her parents; two brothers; and two sisters.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 4, from 5:00 p.m. until service time at Lake Street Baptist Church. The memorial service will begin at 6:00 p.m. at Lake Street Baptist Church with Jody Faulkner officiating.
