Mary Ellen Grubb, 91, of Adamstown, MD, passed away on December 18, 2025.

She was the loving wife to Dana S. Grubb.

Born on April 2, 1934, in Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Edward and Margaret (Finerty) Maum.

She is survived by her husband Dana Grubb; her children; Karen (Ryn) Hamilton, Ellen Grubb Brier, Bruce Grubb, Paul Grubb; nine grandchildren: Kyle Hamilton, Maxwell Hamilton, Olivia Hamilton, Margaret Brier, James Brier, Amy Grubb Gianni, Christina Grubb, Megan Grubb, Matthew Grubb; and one great-grandchild: Giuseppe (Joey) Gianni.

She was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter Emily Grubb (2015).

In addition to raising a family, Mary pursued a career as an educator. She earned a Liberal Arts degree from Penn State and a Masters in Education from Western Maryland. Mary taught at the Karma Academy, a therapeutic residency for juvenile offenders, and then for many years at various Montgomery County high schools, teaching history and students with special needs. She enjoyed traveling with Dana, especially when they took their grandchildren on trips. Mary was active in the Episcopal church and volunteered weekly for over 25 years at The Lord's Table, a soup kitchen in Gaithersburg. After 60+ years in Gaithersburg, Mary and Dana retired to Buckingham's Choice in Adamstown.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 am, with a luncheon to follow, on Saturday, January 3rd at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 25100 Ridge Road, Damascus, MD 20872.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bread for the City (https://breadforthecity.org/).
