Mary C. Hammons (Lisle) passed away on August 6, 2024. She was born on September 17, 1954, to the late Merrill and Ruth Hammons in Fulton, Kentucky, and raised in Franklin, Kentucky

Mary was a 1972 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School where she was a member of the award-winning FS Marching Band. She was a 1976 graduate of the University of Kentucky earning a degree in accounting. 

Mary spent her career with the Kentucky Department of Revenue. In retirement, she was the Bowling Green Director for the AARP Foundation Tax Aid which assisted people filing their tax returns. 

Mary was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and supported all University of Kentucky athletics. She also supported the Special Olympics and the Bowling Green Department of Parks and Recreation. 

Mary is survived by her brother, Merrill R. Hammons (Rig) and her sister Margaret Hammons. 

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 3-5 pm at the Midtown Events Center, 824 Lehman Avenue, Bowling Green, Kentucky

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mary’s name to the Warren County Public Library, -Lisa Rice Library, 1225 State Street, Bowling Green, KY 42101 or the Bowling Green Special Olympics @ the Kummer/Little Recreation Center, 333 College Street, Bowling Green, KY 42101.
