Mary L. Hancock

Mary L. Hancock, 80, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at University of Louisville Jewish Hospital. She was born March 18, 1945 in Daviess County to the late Martin and Ida Hoffman Wink. Mary had worked as the officer manager for Raben Tire and was a member of Crosspointe Baptist Church.

Mary loved traveling and always looked forward to vacations and time with family and friends. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, staying active with exercise, shopping, dining out, and searching for treasures at flea markets and garage sales. She also had a special love for flowers and the beauty they brought to her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Hancock; a sister, Imogene Stallings; a nephew, Byron Stallings; and her dog, Chloe.

She is survived by a daughter, Danielle Hardin; a sister, Joan Scott (Randy); nephews, Shawn Scott (Charis), Maurice "Mo" Stallings (Patti), and Mark Stallings (Wilma); nieces, Heather Vanover (Darrell), Debbie Alders (Gary), and Donna Mitchell (Jim); great nieces and nephews, Carter Vanover, Colby Vanover, Emersyn Scott, and Cutler Scott; her close friend and traveling buddy, Charlotte Stofer; and a grand dog, Lilly.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation is from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
