Mary Ann Hardy, age 60, passed away surrounded by love on February 18, 2023.
Mary Ann was born on April 7, 1962 to Neil and Shirley Foster in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. She married the love of her life, Gary, on May 21, 1988 in St. Clair Shores. Together, they raised two beautiful daughters. Mary Ann was the recipient of a double lung transplant in May of 2002, and she became a great advocate for those who were going to receive, or had received, a transplant. She developed a wonderful relationship with her donor family and became very close with them. After her transplant, Mary Ann became a stay-at-home mother. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She was a lover of music, and enjoyed going to concerts, playing guitar and singing. She loved her dogs, especially Teddy. Mary Ann loved life, and didn't take it for granted; she would take her friends on what she called "Marys Excellent Adventure", where they would rent a limo, go out on the town and have the time of their lives. Over the past 2 years, Mary Ann's greatest joy has been being a grandmother to her granddaughter who lovingly called her 'Gram". She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Beloved wife of Gary; devoted mother to Christine (Matthew), and Kimberly; cherished sister to Donald (Cindy); loved aunt to Kelly and Daniel; proud grandmother to Claire, and another granddaughter on the way.
Joined in heaven by her loving parents Neil and Shirley, and in-laws Andy and Edna Hardy.

I knew Mary from Second Wind when we both were on the Board of Directors. It was a joy to work with her. Her enthusiasm was contagious and provided excellent ideas at our monthly meetings. Mary would regularly volunteer for all sorts of roles (like database manager) when it was needed. I have not spoken with her in awhile but she remained in my heart. She will be missed.
