Mary Catherine Hargis

Mary Catherine (Booso) Hargis, age 81 of Lewisburg, Ohio passed away at her residence on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Born on June 25, 1944 in Miamisburg, Ohio.

She had retired from Lewisburg Container after more than 40 years.

She loved to roller skate in Germantown. Mary loved the outdoors, especially walking in the woods, hunting mushrooms and ginseng with her family. She also liked to hunt arrow heads at the local farms and had a beautiful collection. Mary was also an avid Bingo player and enjoyed gaming. She enjoying gardening, canning, and cooking.

Preceded by her parents, Frank & Margaret Wilmenia (Weiss) Booso; brother, Donald Douglas Booso, Sr.; son-in-law, Ed DeMaris; love of her life, Jerry Lee Hargis.

Survived by her children, Mike Hargis and Debbie DeMaris; granddaughter, Cassie & Steve Canale; 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Iris) Booso, John (Nellie) Booso, Charles Booso, and Betty Fleming; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg, Ohio with Pastor Gary Sollenberger officiating. Interment will be held in Royal Oak Memorial Gardens in Brookville, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
