She was preceded in death by her parents, William Taft McDonald and Helen Wimberly Lawson; her husband, Jimmy Elton Harper; and her sister, Frances Gilbert Baker. She is survived by her two sons, Randy Kyle Harper and Jimmy Lynn Harper and his wife, Rebecca Ann. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Brian Harper and his wife Raquel, Jamie McCoy and partner Josh, Beth Jacobs-Harper and Hannah O'Shields and her husband, Michael. She also has eight great-grandchildren: Conor McCoy, Jacey McCoy, Novalee Harper, Josiah Jacobs, Rachel O'Shields, Samuel O'Shields, Gabriel O'Shields, and recently arrived Nathaniel O'Shields. Also, part of her family are Raquel's two daughters, Haven and Ana.

Mary was a long-time member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was a phenomenal cook who enjoyed hosting family gatherings. Over the years, her hobbies included quilting and playing the games of rook, canasta, bridge and bunco through which she made many friends. Family and friends were the heart of who Mary was. Thank you to all who knew her and helped enrich her life. A special thanks to her friend of over 60 years, Juanita Raburn. Mary and Juanita worked together at Hanna Clinic for many years. Our heartfelt gratitude also goes to Peggy Moore for her years of service and companionship through the Red River Council on Aging. Thanks also to Kim and Kathy Carlisle who provided care and humor during her final weeks. Also, the hospice workers who were wonderful too. We will all miss her dearly. See you in Heaven Mom!
