Mary Hasting Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Griffith-Cline Funeral Home - Bradenton on Jul. 16, 2025.
Mary was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina on November 3, 1956, to Curtis and Amy Courtney. Mary passed away in Bradenton, Florida on July 10, 2025, after a long illness.
Mary pursued a career in Health Care and worked in many hospitals and nursing homes. She had a great passion for her patients and enjoyed taking care of them in their homes, allowing them to live in the comfort of their own home and sought to brighten their day with her smile every day when they were ill. Mary was a very compassionate person, always looking for a way to help someone in their time of need. The term, "they would give you the shirt off their back" described Mary perfectly. Mary loved her family dearly and was very devoted to all of them. She always loved spending time with her nieces and nephews; they were like her own children. She loved all animals but especially her cats.
The family would like to extend our sincere, heartfelt gratitude to all of those who helped to make it possible for her to pass away in her own home and for their care during her extended illness, Home Instead; (Janice and Leroy), Tidewell Hospice, (Jennifer and nurse practioner); her husband; Craig and sister-in-law; Judith Courtney (Kelly). We would also like to thank all the social workers who helped with the endless paperwork.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents; Curtis and Amy Courtney, brothers; Larry and Radena, all of Bradenton, Florida.
She is survived by her husband; Craig, sister; Kathy Simon (David), brother; Jim Courtney (Peggy), step son Jeffrey Harvey, sister-in-law; Judith Courtney (Kelly), threee step grandhildren, and many nieces and nephews, and also by her dear, lifelong friend, Melody Barksdale.
