Sr. Mary (Paulita) Hauber

October 7, 1942 - December 28, 2025

Sr. Mary (Paulita) Hauber, OSF, passed away at 1:10 p.m., Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Clare House. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Clare House Chapel, Mount St. Francis Center at 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Guests unable to attend may participate via livestream at: www.youtube.com/dubuquefranciscans. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

She was born on October 7, 1942, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Paul and Geraldine (Krayer) Hauber. She entered the Sisters of St. Francis September 3, 1960, and made final profession of vows August 12, 1968. Sister received her master's degree in piano pedagogy from East Texas State University in Commerce, TX. She ministered as an educator in Illinois at North Riverside and in Iowa at St. Edward, Waterloo, Dyersville, and Holy Ghost, Dubuque.

Sister is survived by her brother, Gerald (Bette) Hauber, nieces, nephews, and her Franciscan sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Paul (Linda) Hauber and Bill Hauber.

The Sisters of St. Francis express their thanks to Hospice of Dubuque and the MSFC staff for their care and concern.

Memorials may be given to the Sisters of St. Francis, 3390 Windsor Ave., Dubuque, IA. Egelhof, Siegert, and Casper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
