Mary Faye Hayes, 83, of Goshen, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Waterford Crossing in Goshen.
She was born August 29, 1942, in Middletown, Ohio, to Walter Montgomery and Betty (Stull) Proffit. On August 5, 1961, she married Robert Hayes.
Mary is survived by her son, Richard (Kristin) Hayes of Goshen; her sister, Sheila (Dave) Wimsatt of College Corner, Indiana; and two grandchildren, Zach and Kyle Hayes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her former spouse, Robert Hayes; and two sisters, Nancy Hill and Janet McMullin.
Mary worked as a supervisor with the Social Security Office and was an active member of several organizations, including the DAV and VFW in Goshen, the American Legion, “The Eagles” club, the Ladies of the Legion, a local book club, and the Quilters Guild. She loved to read, quilt, and sew.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 23, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Burial will follow on Friday, October 24, at 1 p.m. at College Corner Cemetery in West College Corner, Indiana.
