Mary Frances Herrington, age 77 of Gatesville, passed away on March 23, 2024.
Memorial services will held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 at Live Oak Baptist Church with Pastor Matthew Hamilton officiating.
Mary was born in Dallas, Texas on May 6, 1946, to Paul Lee and Joan Bohmer Cascio. Mary graduated from Forney High School in 1964 and received her associate degree in child development from Central Texas College. She later attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She worked with children at Harker Heights Elementary for 10 years as an instructional assistant and taught computer classes. She married Galen Herrington in 1988 and moved to Florida with his job. Mary worked as her husband’s business manager for almost 20 years. They moved to Gatesville in 2004.
Mary was multitalented. She loved to draw and doodle and she was a talented seamstress. She loved to garden and enjoyed growing and maintaining colorful flower beds. Mary had a beautiful singing voice and sang in her church choir. She touched many lives with her beautiful voice and was asked to sing for many events. She had deep faith in her Lord and was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be greatly missed and will leave a void that will never be filled.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 32 years, Galen Herrington.
She is survived by her daughter Angela Helton and husband, Bobby; grandchildren, Blake Helton, Jennifer Helton, and Bobby Hart; sisters, Joan Roberts, Paula Batcher and many nieces and nephews.
