Mary "Jane" Hester passed away at the age of 90 in Adena Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023. Jane was born on August 11, 1933, to Leslie and Ruth Morgan in Greenland, Ohio, where she grew up and her parents had a country grocery store. Jane graduated from Frankfort High School in 1951, was a member of the band and the first Driver's Ed Class. She married Robert Hester in Greenup, KY on December 21, 1950, and was married for over 50 years.
Jane worked at Morgan's Grocery and Frankfort Cardinal Market for many years along with her brothers George and Russell. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a talented seamstress, a wonderful baker, and an avid gardener and loved her flowers. She was also a loving caretaker for many Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren over the years.
She was a faithful member of Frankfort Presbyterian Church and Frankfort Post 483 Legion Auxiliary.
Jane was predeceased by her parents, her Mother and Father-in-law, Joe and Margaret Hester, her brothers George (Mary Ruth) and Russell Morgan, a sister, Betty (Dick) Bonner, Brother-in-law Robert Haynes, Brother-in-law Jack Hester, Sister-in-law Marilyn Sue Lemaster, and grandson Nathan McDonald.
Jane is survived by her children, Susan (Tim) McDonald, Tim Hester, Jim (Edna) Hester and Jeff (Christina) Hester, along with 7 grandchildren Natalie (Scott) Rawlings, Erin (Jason) Williams, Ryan (Becky) McDonald, Sam Hester, and Rose, Ruby and Mitch Hester. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law Betty Haynes and Betty Morgan, 10 Great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jane will be missed by many but is rejoicing in Heaven now. Many thanks to the staff (especially the Nurses on 2A) of Adena Medical Center for their wonderful and compassionate care.
Jane's funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 11 a.m. in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Pastor Todd Thomas officiating. Following the service she will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 9, 2023, from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Frankfort Presbyterian Church, PO Box 356, Frankfort OH 45628.
