Abingdon, VA – Mary “Louise” Kennedy Hickman, age 91, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Johnson City Medical Center. Louise worked in the cafeteria of E.B. Stanley Middle School for over 20 years and attended Meadow Spring Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Huey Kennedy and Hattie Tignor Kennedy; husband, Sonny Lee Hickman; great grandson, Henry Robinson; brother, Herman Kennedy; and sister, Delphine Morrison.
Louise is survived by her son, Gregory Hickman and wife Teresa of Abingdon, VA; two daughters, Tammy Jo Calhoun and husband Jerry of Abingdon, VA, and Donna Kay Goff and husband Kevin of Saltville, VA; four grandchildren, Amber Robinson and husband Jeff; Samuel Hickman; Caleb Norris and wife Audrey, and Joshua Norris; great grandchildren, Trenton and Carson Norris; special sister-in-law, Deloris Eileen Childress; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2024, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Norris and Bro. Caleb Norris officiating. Graveside committal services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Old Glade Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Samuel Hickman, Caleb Norris, Joshua Norris, Kevin Goff, Jeff Robinson, Bobby Morrison, and Johnny Morrison serving as pallbearers.
