Mary Ann Hickman, a beloved member of her community and a devoted servant of the Lord, passed away on November 10, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on May 3, 1934, Mary Ann dedicated a significant part of her life to both her family and her career. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 31 years, where she served as an instructor, imparting her knowledge and skills to countless individuals.
Mary Ann was not only a dedicated professional but also a faithful member of the Cleveland Church of Christ. Her strong faith was a cornerstone of her life; she was known for her deep spirituality and commitment to serving others. As a Godly woman, Mary Ann lived her life with compassion, kindness, and a love that touched the hearts of many.
In her personal time, Mary Ann found joy in a few simple pleasures. She had a special fondness for flowers, particularly roses, which brought her happiness. In her later years, she explored her creativity through coloring, savoring those moments as a peaceful retreat.
She is survived by her loving son, William Russell "Rusty" Hickman. Mary Ann's legacy will be cherished by those she leaves behind.
She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, William Bates Hickman, and their daughter, Sherri Lynn Hickman Moore. Mary Ann also mourned the loss of her father, Felix B. Russell, her mother, Della Mae Russell, her brother, Donald A. Russell, and her sister, Wanda Truett.
Visitation will be held on November 16, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Neal Funeral Home, located at 200 S Washington Ave, Cleveland, TX 77327. A funeral service to celebrate her life will take place the following day, November 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM, also at Neal Funeral Home and her Interment will follow at Pace-Stancil Memorial Gardens.
Mary Ann Hickman will be remembered for her unwavering faith, dedication to her family, and the cherished memories she created throughout her life.
