Mary Hoffman

Mary Hoffman, 92, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024. Mary was born July 15, 1932 in Dayton, KY to the late John and Loretta (nee: Boschert) Mader. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Edward K. Hoffman & Brother, Louis Mader.
Mary is survived by her children, Julie (Joe) Walburg, Amy (Gary) Yeager, Jeanne (Stephen) Schneider, Mary Ann (Rick) Vollhardt, David (Tracy) Hoffman, 10 Grandchildren & 7 Great Grandchildren.
Mary loved Jesus and served Him well in word and deed in countless ways through various church ministries at St. Catherine of Siena always ready to offer a helping hand serving others. She selflessly gave her time to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ft. Thomas for decades as a volunteer in the gift shop and surgical waiting area.
Domestically, she spent a lot of time around the kitchen table. She enjoyed cutting-out clothes patterns on the table to sew for her five children. Sewing and being creative with fabric, needle and thread were passions of hers. She enjoyed creating cookies and pies on the table. Apple pie was her forte. Many neighbors and friends would attest that food was her love language. The table served as a place where the Highlands PTA newsletter was assembled with other volunteers.
The table served as a place to connect with friends and family via card, board games and conversation.
Throughout her long life, she cultivated lasting friendships through travel, music, conversation, laughter and faith. She made friends wherever life took her including her employment at Piece Goods Fabric Store and Hader Hardware.
She loved her family well and will be missed greatly. The family is grateful for the care Mary received at Highland Spring and from the care team at Hospice of Bluegrass of Northern Kentucky.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 beginning at 10:00am followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00am. Please join the family for a luncheon at McCrystal Hall in the undercroft of church following mass.
