Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dobbling Funeral Home - Fort Thomas on Nov. 15, 2025.
Thomas Lawrence Casey, 82, of Newport, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones. Tom was born on December 16, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio to proud parents John & Clara Casey.
Tom's career with Billboard Magazine spanned several decades and included being a printer, manager, and sales, and he was a proud Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Jerry & Kenny Casey and sisters: Maureen Brands & Janny Gettler. Tom is survived by his wife, the absolute love of his life, Roberta (nee Hahn) Casey; sons, Kevin (Julie Dwyer) Casey & John (Nikki) Casey; 8 grandchildren: Sarah (Tim) Ernst, Trey (Olivia) Casey, Kevin (Alexa) Casey Jr., Brigid (Sam Covell), Kieran, Seth, Joey & Devin Casey, sister, Marilyn (the late Paul) Eitel, brothers-in-law, Al Brands and Tom Gettler, great-grandchildren: Cora & Addy Ernst, Tessa, Cade, and Chase Casey, and beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Tom and Roberta spent the last 33 years enjoying life, going on adventures, and appreciating each other's company; relaxing at their home in the OBX, car rides on nice days, cross-country road trips, golf, travel, walks across the bridges of the Ohio River, and spending time with family and friends. Tom held positions in several clubs and special charities such as Corvette Club, Numismatics Club, TCA, Outer Banks Beach Buggy Club, and Wood Hudson Cancer Research. Tom was a collector of trains and memorabilia, and his grandchildren used to delight in his "train room". Tom and Bert took their grandchildren skiing weekly when they were young. And he celebrated his 82 nd birthday by skiing with Cora and Addy – his great-grandchildren. His grandchildren fondly remember skiing, Notre Dame football games, his famous grilled turkeys, fireworks parties, state fair drives, and singing along to songs about moose and bear.
Tom was an enthusiastic and generous supporter of Elder High School, his alma mater. While he was disappointed that his sons did not become Panthers, he added LaSalle High School to his list of benefactors in support of his sons and grandsons.
