Mary Holloway Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tom M. Wages Funeral Service - Lawrenceville on Mar. 29, 2026.
Mary Dorothea Holloway, born December 6, 1946 passed away after a lengthy and well fought battle on 03/26/2026. Mary is survived by her beloved cat Benjamin who has been by her side to comfort her until her time to leave this earth. She was preceded in death by George, Morgan, Benjamin #1, George #1 and Susie, (her cat babies) who were all loved by Mary over the years, and by her parents, Thomas Michael and Ouida Theresa Holloway, maternal grandparents Herman Brannon and Eddie Belle Williams and paternal grandparents Luther Thomas and Dorothy Blood Holloway.

Mary was an avid quilter and hosted and organized many retreats working with many who shared her passion for quilts. She loved color and a challenge for anything quilting. She worked with Pat and Richard Walker for many years assisting them in their quilting business and loved every moment being around quilting. Prior to working with the Walkers, she was with SmithKline Beecham Clinical labs thru many iterations of company names over the years. She was instrumental in the management of the building of their newest state of the art facility in Tucker.

Away from work her life centered around her kids, that is her kitty kids. She always had at least one or maybe three. They were truly her life and many of them only liked Mary and no one else. Her cats were extremely precious to her and some were named after her two favorites, Benjamin and George. We do not recall there being a 2nd Susie, but that could be a good thing as Susie did not like strangers. They were her life and gave her much pleasure and enjoyment.

A Graveside Service Honoring the Life of Mary will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 2:00PM at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel on Monday, March 30th from 10:AM-12:00PM (Noon).
