Mary Lou Hopkins passed a way on Monday February 3, 2025, at Mercy One Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, she was 90 years old. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday February 22, 2025 at Faith Independent Assembly of God church, 6001 SW 14th St Des Moines, Iowa.
Mary Lou was born on December 24, 1934, Christmas Eve in Montazuma, Iowa to Sidney and Francis Webber. She enjoyed bicycling, Ragbrai, Dressing Gaudy Hat Club, reading true crime and history books, movies, traveling, a great sense of humor, dinner out, animals of all kinds, most of all her family and friends. Crazy thing, she wasn't much into sports but liked to play tennis and a great spectator of Olympic ice skating competition. Loved Picnicking, Mary Lou was fiercely independent and always willing to help others.
Always a worker, she was a waitress at the (now gone) Rocket Cafe, Sealy Mattress as a mattress builder, dog groomer, a private duty nurse companion, and even did paper routes for extra money.
Mary Lou is survived by her sister, Janice Webber and her 6 children: Victoria (Ron) Bohall, Sharon Hall, Cynthia (Bruce) Hall, Randall Schaff, Montgomery (Teresa) Schaff, William Schaff and Sheryl Benson. She had 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 25 great-great grandchildren and many friends to numerous to count.
Preceded in death by her precious family is (daughter) Deborah Blackford, (sister) Jeannie Ewing, (father) Sidney Webber, (his wife) Marie Webber, (brother) Sidney Webber Jr., and (mother) Francis Webber.

Mary Lou will rest at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa
