Mary H. Hopkins, age 88, of Midland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 25, 2025.
Born August 17, 1937, in Cabarrus County, Mary was the cherished daughter of the late Bailey Tillman Hartsell and Ethel Page Hartsell. She was preceded in death by her brothers Wade Hartsell and Tommy Hartsell, and on October 17, 2025, by her beloved husband of over fifty years, Sam J. Hopkins. Mary is survived by her brother, Billy Ray Hartsell (Sharon), and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who were blessed to be part of her life.
Mary lived a full and faithful life marked by love-for her Savior, her family, and anyone who crossed her path. She had a servant’s heart and found her greatest joy in doing for others. For almost fifty years she was a devoted account assistant at Barclays Financial, where her gentle spirit, strong work ethic, made her a favorite among colleagues and clients alike.
Those who knew Mary will remember the way she made every person feel truly valued and loved. She has left a void that cannot be filled, but the promise of eternal life gives her family comfort knowing she is now in the arms of Jesus and walking together again with Sam.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Monday, December 1, 2025 at Clear Creek Baptist Church. The funeral service will be on Monday at 2:00 pm at Clear Creek Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC officiated by Pastor Homer Murdock.
Memorials may be made to Atrium Health Hospice & Palliative Care Cabarrus, 5003 Hospice Lane Kannapolis, NC 28081 - 704-935-9434
