Mary Jean Hough, 71, of Zanesfield, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at her home.
Mary was born in Columbus, Ohio, on July 27, 1954, to the late Malcolm Leonard Gabriel and Ann Regine (Stone) Gabriel.
Mary is survived by her son Josh Hough of Sterling Heights, Michigan; a sister Ann Gabriel of Columbus; and her very close friends: Larry D. Spradlin of Upper Sandusky, Patti Wilce of Columbus, and Gayle Budlong of Columbus.
Mary worked for 20+ years at Mary Rutan Hospital as a Medical Laboratory Technician. Her real passion was as a working musician her entire life and she excelled at playing the guitar. Mary played thousands of gigs in the Columbus and Buckeye Lake area. Over the years, she was a part of several bands, including Moxie, Reckless Abandonment, Roxy Jane, and Wolfhound. Mary loved her animals and adored her cats. When the weather was nice, and she wasn’t playing guitar, Mary enjoyed riding her Harley on the back roads of Logan County.
There will be no services at this time for Mary.
