Mary was born March 11, 1950 in Martin County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Walker and Gladys (Osborne) Harless. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five brothers, Clarence Harless, George Harless, Winferd Harless, Floyd Harless and David Harless, three sisters, Ethel Crum, Susie Workman and Irene Cook.
She is survived by two sons, Robert James Fletcher and Rush Walker Fletcher both of Johnson County, Kentucky; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Avery of Martin County, Kentucky and Grace Ann Blevins of Johnson County, Kentucky; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Bernard (Bob) Harless of Inez, Kentucky and Homer Harless of Debord, Kentucky; and one sister, Rushie Pelikin of Missouri.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2025 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Ron Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Delong Cemetery, Davella Road, Debord, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Thursday , November 6, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Mary's memory by contacting the Jones-Preston Funeral Home at 789-3501.
Jones-Preston Funeral Home is both Honored and Privileged to be Entrusted with all funeral arrangements for Mary Josephine Harless Howard.
