Julie Lynn Howard

Julie "Julz" Lynn (Potter) Howard, 62, of West Winfield, passed away on November 4, 2025, unexpectedly, at her home, due to unforeseen health matters, once again being reunited with her son, Michael in heaven.
She was born the daughter, of the late, Robert J. and Barbara A Pruner Potter on June 3, 1963 in New Hartford, NY. Julie attended and graduated from Sauquoit Valley High School. She married Michael J. Howard on June 4, 1983 at St. Patrick's Church in Clayville. Shortly after Julz became a mother to her most cherished possessions Nicole and Michael Howard. Julie loved spending time with her kids as they grew, enjoying all activities they participated in, Michael's football, baseball, and wrestling and Nicole's softball, and cheerleading as they were "three peas in a pod." She worked at Utica National for 16 years cooking and catering to the executives in and out of the company. She also worked as a waitress along side her career for many years at Joan's diner in Chadwicks. Her love and laughter were infectious to all those around her. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the girls from Orchard Hall in their bowling leagues where she bowled for many years. Julz enjoyed spending most of her time with her children and especially her grandchildren, Caleb and Cole always ready to play or take an adventure. She loved going to concerts, enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills, crafting, fishing, camping, watching Nascar and Utica Rome dirt races, snowmobiling and taking spontaneous trips. Julz was always ready and up for an adventure and a good time even after she was extremely devastated when her son, Michael passed away on April 19, 2023. There presence will truly be missed by many.
She is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Eric Rose; two grandchildren, Caleb Pope and Cole Rose; three brothers and their spouses, Don and Jeannie Potter, NC, Doug and June Potter, Waterville, and Robert Potter, Schuyler; a sister, Sheila Mariotti, West Winfield; three cherished sisters-in-law, Donna Smith, Linda Pontero, and Barbara Chafee, brother-in-law Doug Howard; nieces and nephews, Angie, Jamie, Heather, and Brittany Potter, Jessie and Chris Mariotti, Dustin and Brian Briggs; relatives, and special friends, Sharon, Dale, and Keith and one fur baby, Big bad Bruno or aka Brun Brun.
Julz was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Barbara;-in-laws, Julia and Don Howard; son, Michael; two sisters, Kathleen Potter and Peggy Hollenbeck, brother-in-laws, Steve Hollenbeck and Mark Mariotti; nephew, Mark Mariotti and her best friend, Eva Monaghan.
A celebration of Julz's life will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at Joan's diner, 3480 Oneida St., Chadwicks from 3-5pm, all are invited to attend.
