Mary Huffington was born April 16, 1931 and went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Florence Huffington, and her sister and husband, Bob and Margaret Wykes. She leaves behind 2 nieces., Julie (Luis) Falcon and Nancy (David) Thomas and 5 great great nieces and nephews. Mary served the United States as a civil servant starting in the early 1960s teaching grade school on many military bases throughout the world. Her last base was before she retired was at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. She was at Clark Air Force base in the 1970s when the POWs were released by north Vietnam and had the experience of having many speak to her classroom. She was only able to fly home every other year and in the years she stayed overseas, she became involved with New Tribes Missions, hiking to remote villages in the Philippines to spread the gospel of Christ. She had the unique experience to visit every country in the world and had a collection of items from each country. She was stationed in Panama during the conflict Operation Just Cause in 1989. After Mary's retirement she moved to Woodstock, GA. Mary became a member of Lebanon Baptist Church where she was very active until her health began to decline three years ago.
