Mary R. Hutchinson, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, was born on April 13, 1961, in La Porte, Indiana. She passed away peacefully at her home on April 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Throughout her life, Mary was characterized by her vibrant personality, remarkable sense of humor, and her penchant for bringing joy to those around her. A high school graduate, Mary was known as quite the prankster, always ready with a joke or a mischievous quip that would light up the room. She held family cookout reunions that were a cherished tradition, bringing together loved ones to create lasting memories filled with laughter and love. Her adventurous spirit was evident in her love for travel, and she enjoyed dancing, embracing life with a zest that inspired those in her company.
Mary leaves behind her devoted husband, John H. Hutchinson; her loving children, Jeremy Watkins and Stephany Watkins, her step-daughters, Maralee (Howard) Jacobs, and Jade (Tyler) Smith; and siblings, Calla (Eric) Arnholz, Jeannie (John) Eddy, Clay (Dawn) Turner, and Darial Turner. She was a proud grandmother to Zane, Brayden, Madelyn, Mason, Destin, and Eli, and a step-grandmother to nine grandchildren who will carry her spirit forward in their lives.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Roscoe and Mima Turner; her first husband, David Watkins; her step-sons, Dennis and David Watkins; her step-daughter, Donna Peres; her sister, Vickie Lemley; and her brothers, Paul, Carl, Roscoe (Rocky), and Dale Turner. Each of these individuals held a special place in her heart and are remembered fondly.
Her warmth, kindness, and infectious laughter will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. Mary’s legacy lives on through her family and friends, who are forever grateful for the moments they shared.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on April 21, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
