Mary is remembered by her daughter, Moana (Anthony) Petrelli; sons, Darrin I'atala, Tamatane (Nakina Mills) I'atala, and Calvin Grover Shangreaux; She is also survived by her siblings, Kenneth L. (Lynelle) Keith, Shawn (Amber Janis) Keith, and Tiara (Walter) Ruff; her special aunt, Leona (Brewer) Stabler; adopted daughter, Lisa Bagola; and cousins, Clementine Tyon and Debbie Saunders.
Mary was a proud grandmother to Darrean, Markadrean, Jaden, Anthony Jr., Kainoa, Joshua, Aaliyah, Kyriana, Aisea, Kylie, Percival, Matagi, Ma'lea, Shaidiem, Kaibeya, Ohitika, and Kaydance.
She was also a beloved great-grandmother to Lototele, Melemaika'alani and Kapuamanu; and special granddaughter, Tayler and grandson Mateo!
Mary leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews: Katrina Keith, Kellie (Casey) Keith-Means, Peri (Ernest) Pourier-Weston, Patricia Keith, Jonnie (Matthew) Trueblood, Bart Keith, Pierson Pourier, Shawn Keith Jr., Fred Keith, Joseph Keith, Leo Ruff, Harrison Weston, and Michael Bauman. She also shared a close sisterly bond with her cousins, Shirley Brewer, Francine MerryWeather, Teresa Luecke, Tammy and Marty Brewer.
Throughout her life, Mary dedicated nearly 20 years serving her people, working for the Oglala Sioux Tribe as the ICWA ONTRAC Director and with OST Vocational Rehabilitation Services, where she supported countless families and community members with compassion and care.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C. Hobart Keith and Emmeline (Brewer) Keith; her brother, Jonathan "Snork" Keith; sister, Kathy Keith; and her grandparents: Helen Knight-Brewer-Adams, William Lloyd Brewer, Hobart E. Keith, and Louise (Ecoffey) Keith.
Pallbearers will be Percival & Shaidiem I'atala, Hayes Haas, Hobert Keith (BART), Shawn Keith, Kenny Mills, Evan Nanji, Heath Ducheneaux, and Connor Moynihan.
Honorary Pallbearers will be All thiwáhe and thiyóšpaye.
Wake services: One night wake service starting at 4:00 PM, Thursday, November 6, 2025 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, SD with rosary service starting at 7:00 PM.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 AM, Friday, November 7, 2025 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, SD
Officiating: Fr. Robert Chawngthu, S.J. and Deacon Bill White
Burial Services: To Be Held At A Later Date – Cremation to follow services
