Mary Iskey Obituary

Mary Iskey, 74, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, February 13, 2024, in TownView Nursing and Rehab of Canonsburg. She was born June 20, 1949, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late James Oliver and Mary Narden Spencer. Mary lived her life in Canonsburg and was a member of South Canonsburg Church. Prior to her retirement in 2002, she had been employed as a server at Kings Family Restaurant on Route 19 in Canonsburg for 23 years. Mary enjoyed reading her Bible, doing puzzle books and bingo. She had her special friends, her dog, Abby and cat, Bandit, but the joy of Mary's life was having her grandchildren and great- grandchildren around her. On July 27, 1969, she married John W. Iskey, who passed away May 29, 2000, after 30 years of marriage. Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, John A. Iskey (Jill Amos) of Canonsburg, Margaret Humbert of Canonsburg, and Tammy Iskey of McKeesport; brother, Walter Spencer; and sister, Diane Knestrick, both of Washington; 12 grandchildren, including two special granddaughters; and caregivers, Katie (Donald) Dunn and Brittany Humbert (Jason Wheeler); 10 great-grandchildren, including Shawn, Kyleigh, Brendon, Zayne, Christian and Bella; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are her son, Albert Spencer, who passed away June 2, 2023; her daughter, Mary Genevieve Spencer; and her brothers, Edward Bell, Nick Bell, James, Joseph and Frank Spencer. Friends and family are welcome from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 15, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg (724) 745-8120, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 16. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
