Mary Eleanor Jones

Mary Eleanor Jones, a radiant beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 25, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on January 23, 1934, to Eli and Rosie Odum, Mary's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the strength of family bonds.
Throughout her life, Mary was a devoted Christian, a member of White Oak Community Church, living her faith through her actions and her unwavering commitment to her family and community. Her love knew no bounds, and she was a source of comfort and joy to all who knew her. Her infectious laughter and warm presence will be profoundly missed.
Mary's legacy is lovingly carried on by her daughters, Brenda Meadows and her husband George of Florida, Kathy Altman and her husband Jamie of Jacksonville, and Patricia Hickman and her husband Jim of Maysville. She was the proud matriarch of a large and adoring family, including her cherished 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life.
Mary's passion for life was evident in her hobbies. She possessed a musical soul, often found strumming her guitar and singing melodies that filled the hearts of those around her. Her love for cooking was an extension of her generous spirit, always eager to share a meal and create memories around the table. The girls' trips she embarked on became legendary, filled with laughter and the forging of unbreakable bonds.
Her husband, Raymond Jones, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership, preceded her in death, as did her parents. Mary's enduring love story with Raymond was a guiding example of commitment and affection for their family.
Described by all who knew her as loving and kind, Mary's faith-filled life was a living example of the Christian virtues she held so dear. Her spirit of giving and her unwavering positivity left a mark on the world that will not be forgotten.
As we bid farewell to Mary Eleanor Jones, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a legacy of love that will continue to inspire generations. Her memory will be treasured in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday December 28, 2025, at White Oak Community Church in Maysville with Rev. Bobby Williams officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the church. Interment will follow the service at the Riggs Family Cemetery, Pollocksville, NC. The family requests those attending the Celebration of Life for Mrs. Mary, please wear red to honor her memory.
