Robert Coombs Obituary
Robert was born on May 14, 1969, in Craven County to Donald and Linda Coombs. Robert drove a truck for many years until his health started to decline.
Robert was a man of few words and had a few great friends. His personality was one of a kind and hard to keep.
He is survived by his fiancée, Melisa Anderson of the home; his son, Robert Coombs Jr. and wife, Nicole; bonus sons, Geoffrey Weston and wife Codie of Washington, Kaleb Weston and wife, Kristen of Greenville; brothers, Donald Ray Shiver of Pollocksville, and Michael Coombs and Kristin of Vanceboro; his grandkids which he loved dearly are Jake and Elizabeth Coombs; bonus grandchildren, Lilliana & Levi Weston and Emerson & Grayson Weston and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles whom he loved dearly.
Robert was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents as well as his best friend, John Ivy Gray.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday March 19, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Clarks United Methodist Church, 106 Clarks Road New Bern, NC.
Flowers may be sent to Clarks United Methodist Church or donations sent to Kahlert Funerals & Cremations to assist with funeral expenses.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Craven County Hospice for the love and care shown to Robert. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
