Mary Kay Shirey, 70, of Franklin Township passed away at her residence on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
Born in Rochester, on February 16, 1956, Mary Kay was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Catherine Zachodni Weihaus. She is survived by her husband, Floyd A. Shirey whom she married on December 3, 2016. Mary Kay was a 1974 graduate of Beaver High School. She received her BS degree from the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown and her MS degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. She worked as a purchasing agent for the Newport, Virginia school district. Mary Kay was an animal lover. She rescued animals and enjoyed her dogs and cats. She also enjoyed flowers and gardening.
Besides her husband, Floyd, Mary Kay is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Dize of Chicago, her sisters, Lisa and Sam Duncan of Ellwood City and Linda and Tom Kohlman of Beaver Falls and her brothers, Martin and Gail Weihaus of Chippewa and Robert and Lori Weihaus of Fombell.
As per Mary Kay’s wishes, there will be no services.
