Obituary of Mary Lee Kriner
Mary Lee Kriner, age 96, of Buckhannon, WV, died Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at her home. She was born November 17, 1928, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Cecil and Vera Reeder Lorentz. On August 11, 1952, she married John J. Kriner, who preceded her in death on December 8, 2012. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Phyllis Kelley; one brother, Jimmie Lorentz; one son-in-law, Randy "Pork" Kelley and one great-grandson, Benjamin Kelley. She is survived by one son, John C. Kriner of Buckhannon; one daughter, Marie Kriner of Sweetwater, TN; two grandsons, Travis Lee Kelley of Buckhannon and Jeremiah Kriner of Sweetwater; one great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Kelley of Buckhannon and caregiver, Loretta Gould of Buckhannon. Mrs. Kriner was a nurse and retired from St. Joseph's Hospital after having worked in Med Surg for over 16 years. She also spent nine years working in the mental health department and worked for the old Weston State Hospital. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church as well as a member of AARP, Lorentz CEOs, and a life member of DAV. Friends will be received Friday, May 30, 2025, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM Saturday at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Edward Tetteh, S.V.D. as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Veterans Cemetery in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
