Mary Laudon Obituary
Kathy was born October 18, 1954, in Emporia, Kan., to James E. and Mary (Misek) Whaley. She graduated Marian High School, Omaha, Neb., in 1972. Kathy married Jeffrey Laudon on May 6, 1983, in Omaha. They were blessed with two daughters, Megan and Katie. Kathy worked for 22 years at Zurich Insurance, retiring in 2008. She was a member of Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, James E. Whaley.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Jeff Laudon, of Council Bluffs; daughters, Megan Laudon, of Omaha, Katie Laudon, of Council Bluffs; grandson, Alex Laudon; mother, Mary Whaley Knust, of Surprise, Ariz.; sister, Chris (Bob) Schell; brother, Tom (Margie) Whaley, all of Dallas, Texas; many nieces and nephews.
Wake Service Thursday, 6 p.m., followed by visitation with the family until 8 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, 10 a.m., at Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church. Fr. Joel McNeil, pastor will be the celebrant. A lunch will immediately follow the service in the parish hall. Inurnment Saturday in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the MS Society.

Jeff Megan and Katie.. I am so sorry for your loss... i know it has been forever but I am so happy that Kathy and Katie was able to attend the wedding and we got to catch up and i got to meet Katie once again she was just a little girl last time I seen her and oh what a darling little Grandbaby... It was such a pleasure and we were going to get together for some lunches this next year. my prayers and thoughts go out to all of you and your families.. at this time of loss.. if you need anything please do not hesitate to let me know..

Jeff and girls, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Kathy. When we worked together we went to lunch every day with Michelle Rosen and grew to be so close. I am just at a loss for words to say. Jeff I am the gal that you met when you and Kathy were at Piccolos eating dinner and i was with my husband. May god bless you and your girls as I feel I know all of you because of the time I spent with Kathy. BLESS YOU MARY URKEVICH

Dear Jeff, Megan and Katie,
I loved Kathy--your wife and mom. She and I were best friends growing up in Westgate in Omaha. She called me on my birthday every year, but I missed talking to her this year regrettably. I know she would have shared stories about baby Alex and some funny story about each of you. Kathy loved her family so much.
My pain and shock of losing my friend is minimal compared to yours, but please know you have the prayers and support of all of us that loved Kathy too.
I'm sorry I can't attend the services since I live in Wyoming, but I plan to visit Nebraska in the next few months and will try to call and come see you.
