Mary Lorraine Bennett Lee, 88, from Baker and Denham Springs, went to meet the Lord, her Savior on February 22, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on August 12, 1935, to Evelyn Delatte Langlois and Leopold Langlois. As an infant, she was adopted by her half sister, Marie Bennett and her husband, Buster Bennett. She graduated from Redemptorist High School in Baton Rouge. Before she met Ayliss (AE) Lee Jr, she considered being a Nun. On August 8, 1953, Lorraine married AE a few days shy of her 18th birthday. She was a homemaker and mother to 5 children. In the late 70's, when there were only 2 children at home, she decided to get a job at Woolco Dept Store. She was so proud of working and earning money and buying her first car. She also was a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary for years and was a member of St. Isadore Catholic Church in Baker. In her late 60's she started organizing bus trips to the casino in Marksville for the KC men and women. She took great pride in organizing those trips and she loved to play slot machines. Lorraine and AE spent most of their married life raising children in Baker, but after AE had health issues, they moved to Denham Springs to be closer to their daughters. She enjoyed sitting outside with her word search book, a cigarette, and a good cup of coffee. Bring her a winning lottery scratch off and she was happy. Lorraine has suffered from Dementia for the last several years and has been cared for by her superhero daughters, Cheryl and Theresa and superhero caregiver, Lea Ann Watts and her "Very Best Friend" Shannon Watts.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband, AE; grandsons, Jason Lee, Chad Lee, and Robert Whittington.

She is survived by daughters, Cheryl Jackson (Larry), Wanda Genola (Vernon), Theresa Lee, and Tina McCann (Bill); son, Michael Lee (Lisa); grandchildren, Angal Whittington, Katy McCann Miller (William); Billy McCann (Henley) and Payton Lee; great grandchildren, Allen Whittington, Clair, Hayden, and Gracie Lee.

Pallbearers will be Bill McCann, Billy McCann, William Miller, Larry Jackson, Michael Lee, and Jay Guidry.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM, officiated by Clergy from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The graveside service will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, in Baker, Louisiana.
