Mary Lessenberry, a cherished resident of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her residence on 28, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on February 15, 1940, in Bowling Green, Mary carried the spirit of her hometown throughout her life, nurturing deep connections with both family and friends.
Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother, leaving behind her beloved children Avonda Vance and Donald (Brenda) Lessenberry. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, whom she adored deeply: Joshua (Emily) Lessenberry, Jamie Lelling, Jeremy Lessenberry, Chris Vance, Zach Vance, Billy Lessenberry, David Lessenberry, and Chrissie Belle. Each of them carries with them the warmth and love that Mary imparted throughout their lives.
Throughout her years, Mary found immense joy in various pursuits. She had a profound love for flowers and vegetable gardening, nurturing the earth with the same care that she offered her family. Her passion extended to her beloved dogs, who were her faithful companions. Most importantly, Mary treasured the time she shared with her grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will be honored and remembered.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Perry Cardwell and Martha Cardwell, and her beloved husband of 65 years, James Paul Lessenberry. The impact of her loss will be felt not only by her family but by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A funeral service honoring Mary's life will be held at Cone Funeral Home, located at 1510 Campbell Lane, Bowling Green, KY 42104, on December 3, 2024, beginning at 1:00 PM with services concluding at 1:45 PM. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation, also at Cone Funeral Home, which will be open on December 3, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
Mary Lessenberry's legacy of love, kindness, and passionate living continues to inspire all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, and her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she influenced so deeply.
