Mary Littell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Schellhaas Funeral Home & Cremation Svcs., Inc. - West View on Mar. 20, 2026.
Mary Beth "MB" Littell (81) passed peacefully on March 16, 2026 and now rests with her husband Ed Littell. She is survived by children Kirk and Cara, grandchildren Brooklyn and Tanner, and brother Larry Scott.

MB was charismatic and humorous, often sharing her love through her quick wit and playfulness. She extended this love to her family, friends, and anyone else she encountered. She was very creative and especially enjoyed calligraphy, often addressing invitations for weddings and special events by hand. MB loved to travel with Ed to their adopted second home in the United Kingdom. For many years she was an avid volunteer with Riding for the Handicapped of Western PA, giving disabled children access to mobility and empowerment through horseback riding. Her love of animals could also be found at home where there was always a pet by her side.

MB endured a life-altering stroke in the 2000s, but did not let it affect her personality or humor. Despite the resulting speech aphasia, she developed mantras to both communicate but also to make jokes and share her love. "Time, time, time" was one such mantra, meant to share optimism and acceptance. She also regularly used the word "beautiful" with enthusiasm. MB was persistent and strong through it all, and as a family we are thankful to have had this time with her.

There will be a private service for family and friends.
