Mary Frances Long, 91, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Trinity Place in Albemarle.
Mary was born October 14, 1931, in North Carolina to the late David Hovis Trull and the late Berta Ellison Trull.
She was also preceded in death by husband, Joe Edward Long; sister, Geraldine Barnes; brother, JD Trull; sister, Betty Swaringen; and son, Freddie Joe Long.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 10:45 am, Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Centerview Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow the visitation, officiated by Pastor Adam Hatley . The burial will be held at the Salisbury National Cemetery located at 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 11am.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandma. She enjoyed reading and had read the Bible at least three times. Mary was a member of Centerview Baptist Church and the VFW Post 2908 Auxiliary in Albemarle. She was an avid bird watcher and was also fond of her 2 cats, Sweet-pea and Keanu. Mary loved the Lord with all her heart and now rests in the arms her Savior.
Survivors include daughter, Marianne Myers of Albemarle, NC, daughter, Samantha (Edward) Rose of Rock Hill, SC, daughter, Martha (Arthur) Bell of Kentwood, LA; grandchildren, Shannon Webster of Albemarle, NC, Jamie Furr of Waynesville NC, Johnathan (Jessica) Melvin of Albemarle, NC, Brandon (Stacy) Melvin of Richfield, NC, Michelle (Brian) Firmstone of York, SC, Sarrah Bell of Kentwood, LA, Staff SGT. Joseph Nathaniel (Brandy) Bell of VA, and Melanie Rose of Rock Hill, SC; 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Stanly & The Uwharrie, 960 North First Street, Albemarle or https://hospiceofstanly.org/donate-3/ and also to Centerview Baptist Church, 508 Northeast Connector, Albemarle, NC 28001.
