Mary A. Lucente

Mary Lucente, 101 ½, loving wife of the late Umberto Lucente, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Southington Care Center.

She was born on September 6, 1924, in Pratola Peligna L'Aquila Italy and came to America at the age of 12. Mary was a loving mother and Nonni who loved to spend time with her family. She loved to feed everyone.

Mary is survived by her three daughters, Anna Lucente of Manchester, Josephine "Jo" Muir of Plantsville, and Carol Hogya and her husband Jeffrey of Ft. Pierce, Florida; her five grandchildren, Kathy Vincenzo-Holland, Matthew Vincenzo, Steven Muir and his wife Katie, Kristin Muir and Karen Brissette and her great grandchildren, Carli, Christopher and Aidan Holland, Ava, Nina and Maxwell Muir, Ryan Baustien, Camryn, Gavin and Ethan Brissette. She is also survived by her three sisters, Nancy Maletta, Lena Baba and her husband Wilson, and Linda Shatas and her husband Bill, along with multiple nieces and nephews, too many to name.

In addition to her husband, Umberto, she was predeceased by her beloved son, Richard, son-in-law, Paul Muir, her great granddaughter Sophia Minnie Muir, her parents Maria and Antonio Antolini and her brothers Rocco, Americo and Robert Antolini.

Mary and her family would like to give a special mention to Southington Care Center and their wonderful staff including Donna, and to the many friends she made there.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, March 2nd from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. A funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Cemetery, 250 Gypsy Lane, Meriden, CT 06450.
