Mary (Allen) Lundquist, 95, passed away February 9, 2026, at Battle Lake Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home with her family at her side.
Mary was born February 7, 1931, to parents Luke and Gladys Allen in Perham, MN. She was raised in New York Mills, MN by her father and aunt Dessie. Mary Graduated from New York Mills High School before continuing her education at Moorhead State, where she earned her teaching degree. She taught school for 17 years in Otter Tail County and metro area. On August 16, 1963, she was united in marriage to Roger Lundquist in New York Mills by Reverend Irwin Brandjord. To this union two children were born: Michelle and Allen.
Mary was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake and participated in many church activities including being a Sunday school teacher and the quilting club. She enjoyed making quilt tops for the church and making quilts for children in LSS. Mary was also a member of the Everts Birthday Club. Mary was known as an amazing cook who could prepare food for any number of people. Most importantly, Mary loved her family. Being a grandmother and great-grandmother was her greatest joy.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Roger; parents, Luke and Gladys Allen; siblings, Lois Brandjord, Delvin Kaiser, and Darnell Brown; sister-in-law Arlene Lundquist; brothers-in-law, Bud (Harriet) Lundquist and Gene (Irene) Lundquist.
She is survived by her children, Michelle (Mark) Lachowitzer of Battle Lake, Allen (Deb) Lundquist of Battle Lake; grandchildren, Craig Lachowitzer, Luke Lachowitzer, Tom Lachowitzer, Samantha Lundquist, Melody Lundquist, Emmie Lundquist; great-grandchildren, Percy and Olin Lachowitzer, Dylan, Will, and Lauren Korbmacher, Liam and Harrison Lachowitzer; and her sister Corrine (Bruce) Johnson.
A Memorial service will be held 11am, Friday, February 13, 2026, at First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake, MN, with a visitation beginning an hour prior to the service. Burial at a later date at Skibtvedt Cemetery.
