Mary Philomena MacShane

Mary Philomena "Phyllis" MacShane (née Brady) of Hartsdale NY, Formerly of Mullahoran, Dundevan, Co. Cavan, Ireland, passed away on June 28, 2022. She was 95 years old. Retired Nurse. Beloved wife of the late Dermot MacShane and loving mom to Paul (Carole), Brendan (Theresa), Derry, Bernadette (Steve) and Sean (Katherine). Loving grandma of Siobhan, Eileen, Caitlin, Brendan, Cristin, Liam, Shaina, Sean, Keelin, Pierce, great grandmother of Sean, Kathleen and Charles. Predeceased by her brothers Jack, Oliver, Rory, Kevin and sisters Kathleen Brady and Evelyn Cassidy Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Phyllis of Mullahoran, Kilcogy left home at 15 years of age to start her studies in Dublin. She then went to work in the London Clinic. In 1951 she came to the States to work at the Mayo Clinic. She later met and married Dermot MacShane of Cornafean, Cavan. They raised their family in the Bronx and later moved to Yonkers. Later in life they moved to Hartsdale. Phyllis loved family and celebrating all milestones and holidays together. Her home was always opened to friends and family to stop in for a cup of tea or cocktail. She will be sorely missed by all.
