New Iberia – Funeral services will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, for Mary Margaret “Maggie” Coco, 77, who passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by loved ones, on Saturday, March 16, 2024.
Deacon Durk Viator will officiate.
Entombment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Wednesday.
A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 am Wednesday.
Mary Margaret “Maggie” Coco was born July 18, 1946, to the late Warren Sr. and Velma Richard Moity. She worked as a secretary for Chevron/Texaco, and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Maggie was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of all who knew her. Her warmth and kindness were evident in everything she did. Maggie had a passion for playing Bridge, tending to her flower garden, and whipping up delicious meals in the kitchen. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often spending her afternoons watching and cheering on sports games with her dear husband, Buddy.
In addition to her many hobbies and interests, Maggie was a devoted family woman. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever. Her unwavering love and support brought light to the lives of those around her.
Mrs. Coco is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Myron “Buddy” Coco; sons, Marc Coco (fiancé’ Patricia Derouen) and Lyn Coco (Tressie); brother, Warren Moity Jr. (Mary Laura); sister, Pat Casey (Leonhard); grandchildren, Chaise Coco, Cole Coco, Lauren Barbalich (Andrew), and Megan Coco (Brandon Gauthreaux); and great-grandchildren, Lucas, Josie, Wyatt, Colton, and Paisleigh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren J. “Puggy” Moity Sr. and Velma Richard Moity.
Pallbearers will be Marc Coco, Lyn Coco, Chaise Coco, Cole Coco, Andrew Barbalich, and Brandon Gauthreaux.
Maggie leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. She will be deeply missed. May she rest in peace.
