Mary G. Marko

Mary G. Marko, age 70, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025.

Beloved wife of nearly 40 years of Fred Marko; cherished mother of Tondra Marko and mother at heart to Vada Scott and Valerie Thornton; devoted grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of 12; treasured sister of Angela Harhalos and Stanley Harhalos (Melissa); dearest aunt of Christina Harhalos; and dear friend of Stanley Clark.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Stella (nee Lekas) Harhalos; and her granddaughter, Toni Lake.

Mary took great pride in being a stay at home mom and shared that maternal nature with others. She doted on her grandchildren and then her great-grandchildren as they came along, and took every opportunity to babysit!

She also loved to take them along on her outings to the zoo, a place she could be found at least once a week with either family or friends! However, she also enjoyed quieter pastimes likes cross stitch and crochet, and became very skilled at both.

While Mary was a very social person and is remembered for her outgoing nature, ironically her favorite character was Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh. Perhaps it was the ceaselessly loving mother in her that just couldn't resist that sad face, and it was that maternal side of her that will be missed by those she leaves behind, most of all!

A memorial gathering to honor and celebrate Mary's life will be held Friday, January 16, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Busch Funeral Home, 4334 Pearl Rd., Cleveland, OH 44109.
