BENJAMIN NORMAN BRUNELLE, age 21, entered the presence of his savior, Jesus Christ, on January 29, 2026.He is survived by his parents David and Carole (née Winkler) and siblings Meghan (Jacob) Martin, Hannah (Alex) Markley, Michael, Michaela (Brad) Jira, Kevin, and Daniel. He loved being the uncle to Elliott, Junia, Oliver, Elise, Norah, Theodore, and Evelyn. He was preceded in death by his sister Katie.
Ben had a courageous and private battle with addiction and mental illness. While he wanted help and had begun to move towards it, the disease of addiction ultimately led to his accidental death. His life, however, is not defined by this tragedy. He deeply loved Jesus, enjoyed theological conversations, and sharing his faith. He especially loved leading campers to faith and encouraging the staff in theirs during his work at Pleasant Hill Outdoor Camp. He deeply loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, sharing laughs, making puns, telling trivia, dad jokes, new words, playing with his nieces and nephews, and consuming bagels and root beer. He saw his friends as extended family and loved ones. He "loved you more." One of Ben's favorite Bible verses was John 16:33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
