St. Martinville - A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville to celebrate the life of Mary Ann Martin, 61, who passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
Mary was a dedicated caretaker, pouring her love into those she cared for, whether it was family or friends. Her laughter and spirit brought joy to every gathering, and she had a special talent for making any moment a fun one. A self-proclaimed aficionado of coffee and Coke, you could always find her with a cup in hand, ready to share a laugh or a good story. She cherished every opportunity to spend time with her family, especially her children and beloved grandchildren. Family gatherings were incomplete without her, as she found the perfect balance between laughter, warmth, and the occasional nap.Mary Ann's kindness and helpful nature left a lasting impression on those who knew her. She was the friend who would drop everything to lend a hand, always ready to listen and support. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Mia Franklin (Bodie), Rocky Romero, Shandi Day (Zane), Seth Romero (Kolbie), Michaela Romero (Bj), Aundrea Romero, Skyla Romero, Pierre Couvillier and Samuel Couvillier, Jr.; grandchildren, Jason Richard, Jaidyn Richard, Helayna Breaux, Dawson Courville, Zane Day, Jr., Kairi Day, Kaden Day, Brookelyn Romero, Madison Romero, Scout Glass, Jewels Horaist, Hayleigh Lawson, Gabrielle Bonin, Angelle Bonin, Kyle Bonin, Dregan Bonin, Lucas Bonin, Halen Bonin and Sabel Bonin; great-grandchildren, Keyori Anthony, Jr., Kayzen Anthony, Greyson Glass, Ezra Glass, Evelyn Glass and Liam Pellerin; siblings, Deanna Bienvenu, Johnny Martin (Sandra), Drucilla Buckner (Mary Ann) and Priscilla Horton (Brian); and the fathers of her children, Mitch Romero and David Franklin.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Couvillier; parents, John "Leroy" Martin and Yola Patin Martin; brother, Thomas Martin; and brother-in-law, Lloyd Bienvenu.
