Mary Alice (Burns) Massaro, 97, of Bristol, widow of Daniel Massaro, Sr., died on Friday (December 12, 2025) at home. Mary was born in Waterbury on October 25, 1928, and was a daughter of the late John and Alice (Lavery) Burns. She taught in the Waterbury School systems and also St. Joseph School for 16 years. and was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Parish devoted to St. Anthony Church, Bristol. She also volunteered with the Bristol A.R.C for 27 years. Mary is survived by four children: Francis Massaro and wife, Sue of Southington, Kathy LaMothe and husband, Rick of Bristol, Daniel Massaro, Jr. and wife, Loreen of Bristol, and Amy Pieper and husband, David of North Haven; son-in-law: Doug Fellows of East Hampton; Siblings: Edward Burns of Litchfield, and Anne Sweeney of Prospect; 9 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter: Patricia Fellows; a son: Raymond Massaro; and brothers: James Burns and John Burns, Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday (December 17, 2025) at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, 111 School St., Bristol.
